Project Management

For an academic healthcare center, I led the retooling of its physician on-boarding process from Letter of Intent to the first pay period after hire. The project’s goal was to create  a standardized, sustainable physician on-boarding process to streamline credentialing and health payor enrollment; improve the timely financial viability of a new physician practice; and assimilate the new physician into the healthcare organization.

Working with more than two dozen stake holders, I reviewed the inter- and intra-
departmental processes and forms used by the nine affected departments and identified means to streamline the information-gathering and -sharing processes. After documenting the re-tooled process and gaining unanimous stakeholder support, I worked with the client’s IT expert to develop an intranet repository to facilitate and support physician on-boarding.

Then I wrote the employee training manual on the use of the repository.

When completed, the network’s new physician on-boarding process was not only praised by senior management at its network-wide employee meetings, but also was cited as a model for cross-departmental teamwork. Learn more about my marketing and project management services.

Conference Management

Working as a member of a government contractor’s event planning team I helped
plan and manage a successful three-day aviation industry conference in San Diego.

In addition to working directly with client customers to help plan the agenda; developing AV specifications and managing vendor selection, I developed promotional and web content for the conference and coordinated the conference needs of more than 60 speakers and panelists. To support:

  • The event planning team, I created a private website for information management and document sharing
  • Online conference registration, I created a secure web application that was embedded into the conference website to develop the conference’s database
  • The collection of presenter and panelist speaking needs, I created online survey tools to provide consistent information collection

As the on-site show manager, I was responsible for the smooth operations of all general and concurrent breakout sessions.

Almost 700 professionals from six continents attended the conference; and 89% of conference attendees rated its overall quality as above average or excellent. Learn more about my event planning and management services.
